Iceland volcano erupts again with huge plumes of lava, the impact is limited near the eruption site

 A volcano in southwestern Iceland has erupted for the sixth time since December, spewing bright orange lava plumes high into the air.

 According to experts, the fault in the ground from which the magma flows is 3.9 km. At the same time, volcanic lava moves at a high speed of 6 km/h. The authorities declared a state of emergency and urgently evacuated more than 3,000 residents of the nearest city.

It is also noted that an earthquake occurred in Reykjavik against the background of the eruption, but their relationship has not yet been proven.

 The eruption marked at least the sixth episode since the end of 2023, where a fissure has released lava.

No lava flow is observed to the south towards Grindavík.
