Magnitude 6.8 earthquake shakes southern coast of Panama and Costa Rica

 A magnitude 6-point-8 earthquake has rocked the southern coast of Panama and Costa Rica.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the quake happened at 4:15 PM local time on Wednesday,...  with the epicenter off the Pacific coast near the Panama-Costa Rica border.

No immediate damage has been reported as the quake was relatively far from any major populated areas.
But authorities have begun inspecting structures for any potential damage.
