Heat Wave: at Least 6 People Died, Over 7,000 Hospitalized in Japan Within Week

HEAT WAVE JAPAN
At least six people died and over 7,000 were taken to hospitals in Japan within a week following a heat wave that daily exceeded 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit), according to the country's fire prevention service.

The number of people who suffered from the extremely hot temperatures is 1.8 times higher compared to the last week's rates, according to the service. Nearly 170 people are required hospitalization for more than three weeks.

Almost a half of the those affected by the hot weather are people over 65 years old.

Last week, the temperature across the country was approximately at 35 degrees Celsius, and the heat wave is expected to continue this week.
