6.5 magnitude earthquake strikes off coast of Papua New Guinea

A 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Papua New Guinea on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). 


The quake hit 32km northwest of Kandrian at a depth of 29 kilometres.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said based on the data, there is no tsunami threat from the earthquake.
