Downpour, flooding kill 10 in Vietnam

Heavy rain and flooding in central Vietnam over the past few days have killed 10 local people and left one missing, the country's central steering committee on natural disaster prevention and fight said Sunday.
Among the victims, six were from Binh Dinh Province, four from Quang Ngai Province. In Binh Dinh, three people have been injured, and in Quang Ngai, one person has gone missing.

In the two central provinces, over 10,000 hectares of paddy rice and other crops were inundated.

Natural disasters killed or left 189 people missing, injured 446 others, and caused property losses of over 15,700 billion Vietnamese dong (704 million US dollars) in the first 11 months of this year, said Vietnam's General Statistics Office.
