A Cygnus cargo spacecraft left the International Space Station (ISS) after spending almost a month there, the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said Monday.
On its way back to the Earth, the empty Cygnus will become the platform for the Spacecraft Fire Experiment (Saffire) which aims to help scientists understand the behavior of fire in microgravity.
On October 23, Cygnus delivered food, supplies and scientific experiments equipment to the ISS.
According to NASA, fire will be intentionally lit on board Cygnus five hours after its departure from the ISS.
