The Cygnus cargo spaceship has safely docked to the International Space Station (ISS), the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said on Sunday.
"Orbital ATK’s Cygnus cargo spacecraft was berthed to the Unity module of the International Space Station at 10:53 a.m. EDT," NASA said, adding that Cygnus will spend slightly more than a month docked to the ISS.
The spaceship has brought 2.3 tonnes of cargoes, including water, food products, expendable materials and research equipment.
Cygnus was launched by an Antares-230 rocket from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport Pad 0A at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia on Monday. [tass.com]
