Fire squadron of the IDF completed the mission in Cyprus

4 aircraft fire squadron of the Israel defense forces, created after the tragedy at mount Carmel, returned to base after taking part in extinguishing the massive fires in Cyprus.

Within 4 days the aircraft made more than 100 sorties, helping to extinguish a forest in the district of Paphos.

On 18 June Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately ordered to send to Cyprus the fire planes to help the authorities of the island state in the fight against fire.

During a major fire on mount Carmel in 2010 that occurred prior to the restoration of fire aviation in Israel, Cyprus, among others, sent to fight the fire, its only fire plane.
