A Chinese delegation will attend the 3rd Arctic Circle Assembly in Iceland, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.
Vice Chinese Foreign Minister Zhang Ming will lead the delegation to the conference in Reykjavik from Oct. 16 to 18, spokesperson Hua Chunying told a regular press briefing.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi will send a video message to the opening ceremony of the conference to explain China's policy on Arctic affairs.
Zhang will give a keynote speech at a meeting on China and outline China's stance on the Arctic.
There will be presentations on China's scientific research, shipping, oil and gas exploitation, and research into climate change.
The conference will feature a photo exhibition called "China and the North Pole."
