European Commission receives Gazprom’s proposals to settle antimonopoly claims

The European Commission received proposals of the Russian gas holding Gazprom on settlement of regulator’s claims within the antimonopoly probe case framework, the press service of the European Commission told TASS on Monday.

"We can confirm the reception of the Gazprom’s proposals," the press service said.

Gazprom submitted its response within the framework of the antimonopoly probe launched against the Russian gas holding.

Consultations between the EC and the management of the Russian company will take place in October after review of proposals by the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission, the European source told TASS.

Gazprom and the European Commission agreed to reach a pretrial settlement in the EC’s antimonopoly probe in July 2015. Gazprom is to formally respond to European Commission’s claims by September 28.
