A full substitution for the supplies of Russian natural gas to Ukraine by deliveries of gas from any other source is not either possible or reasonable, believes the newly appointed CEO of Ukraine’s national oil and gas monopoly Naftogaz Ukrainy, Andrei Kobolev.
“It’s impossible to substitute for the Russian gas in full, nor would it be rational but the prescription was invented long before us, and it’s really hard to conduct talks with any partners in the absence of diversification or alternatives,” Kobolev said.
“The short term options may include reverse supplies, and liquefied natural gas may be a long-term option.[itar-tass.com]
