Putin thanks Turkey for aid in preparing Olympic Games. -For Turkish construction companies’ aid

SOCHI, February 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Turkish construction companies’ aid to preparing for the Olympic Games.
“We’re grateful to Turkish constructors for them to work at the facilities in Sochi,” Putin said opening a meeting with Turkish prime minister on Friday.
“Our specialists were pleased: Turkish constructors worked professionally without wasting time and made a considerable contribution to the preparation of the Olympic Games,” the president said, adding: “These are common Olympic Games.”

Since the beginning of 1990’s Turkish construction companies executed orders amounting to $50 billion, the Russian president said.
Erdogan said he followed the companies’ participation. He expressed hope that they would be able to make contribution to preparing and holding 2018 FIFA World Cup. “I believe that our construction companies are preparing to take part in this event,” he said. In addition, Putin said Russian-Turkish relations were developing in other fields as well. “Last year trade volume reduced. I think that we can close this gap,” the Russian president said.
Putin thanked Erdogan for visiting Sochi and wished Turkish athletes success at the Olympic Games. “Besides, Russian specialists trained your figure skating pairs. We’ll also support them,” he said. The Turkish prime minister said he was hopeful that these were the Turkish team’s first steps at the Olympic Games.
