TANAP Route to Pass through Bulgaria - Report

The Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP) will go through both Bulgaria and Greece, stated a Turkish energy expert Saturday.
"The TANAP project is important not only for Turkey, but also for its neighbors," said Muhsin Ozturk, chair of the Society for New Energy Technologies based in Ankara.
Ozturk also added that the project will boost ties between Turkey and other countries from the region and will strengthen its position as an energy terminal.

The future TANAP pipe is previewed to transport some 10 B cub.m. of natural gas from the Shah Deniz and other fields in Azerbaijan to Europe starting 2018.
The capacity of the pipeline is expected to grow to 23 B cub.m. per year in 2023 and 31 B cub.m. in 2026.
About 1/4 of the volume is planned to remain in Turkey, while the rest will go on to Italy via Greece and Austria via Bulgaria and Romania.
A new push for the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline project was given in June, when Turkey and Azerbaijan signed a contract for construction of the facility.
